LEDscape, Like Architects

Compartimos hoy con vosotros el proyecto de intervención efímera del equipo de arquitectura portugués Like Architects para el CCB de Lisboa conjugando el lenguaje de la luz como elemento definidor de espacio y paisaje.

LEDscape is an installation which deals with light as a constructive element of space and landscape.

It is located in the CCB – Belém Cultural Centre in Lisbon and aims to introduce the everyday user to the Ledare light bulb, thus demystifying the preconceived ideas about LED technology and emphasising the relevance of this product in the sustainability of the future.

LEDscape challenges the passerby to an interactive experience – a pathway gradually lit with 1200 light spots, invites introspection and individual appropriation of the installation.

East-West/West-East, Richard Serra

Compartimos hoy con vosotros el último trabajo del artista escultor Richard Serra en Qatar gracias al reportaje fotográfico de Nelson Garrido recientemente publicado en la plataforma divisare, compuesta for una serie de 4 esculturas de acero conformando una línea recta de 1 km en el desierto y acercándonos de nueva a experimentaciones del land art.

The most recent and biggest public art work made by the North American sculptor Richard Serra in Qatar, spreads along the Zekreet desert. “ East- West/ West- East” is a sculpture composed by four major steel structures, more than fourteen meters high each, forming a straight line through the desert, exceeding one km, which is completely according to the land topography.

Richard Serra succeeded in raising the public art to another dimension, shaped and interpreted the desert landscape, in a contemporary view but at the same time in a timeless way, trying to reach the land art, through its shape and used material becoming it in a cultural Qatar heritage.

El Ayuntamiento de Tortosa convoca la segunda edición de A Cel Obert Festival de Intervenciones Efímeras con la finalidad de promocionar proyectos de arte efímero en los espacios emblemáticos de la ciudad de Tortosa.

Entre todos los inscritos, el jurado, nombrado a tal efecto en el acto de convocatoria, seleccionará 10 proyectos finalistas en función de la calidad, la innovación y originalidad, y la viabilidad económica y técnica de éste.

Las 10 obras escogidas se harán públicas en la página web del Festival el día 22 de junio. +info

Perdona…pensaba que eras una silla!, Ariane Patout y René Müller

“Perdona…pensaba que eras una silla!” es la última creación del proyecto de Leña de Luxe: Wild Furniture, de Ariane Patout y René Müller, una instalación escultórica que reúne a las Sillas Salvajes (Premio FAD en la categoría de Intervenciones Efimeras 2014).

Compartimos hoy con vosotros el vídeo, un recopilatorio de las intervenciones realizadas sobre los árboles muertos para convertirlos en Sillas Salvajes, de la exposición en el Museu del Monestir de Sant Cugat del Vallés y en la Escola d’Art Floral de Catalunya y la explicación del origen y concepto del proyecto. Edge Effect, snØnetta

The often overlooked narrow threshold between boreal forest and open meadow, a particular set of species thrive between the two contrasting environments. By encircling a moment within this ecotone, Edge Effect creates an opportunity to explore and enjoy this condition. The garden is designed to heighten the simultaneous experience of both forest and meadow, where sun and shade mingle.

Passing through the garden, one will notice several conditions: the textural transformation of the ground from forest floor to un-mown field, the spatial transition from horizontal to vertical, and the moment where the edge becomes the center.

Designed to accommodate plants, animals and people, the steel structure incorporates an integral planter and supports a blanket of woven rope that flares out, providing places to lounge and look up at the open sky or the tree canopy overhead. The ropes are stretched with varying tautness, and gradually twist from horizontal in the field to vertical in the forest.
